Welcome to Sierra Ranch!
Rick and I met in the Spring of 1997
and got married later in the year. On
our first date he gave me my first
horse. She was barely 2 and I had
never ridden.
On one hand it was a great way to
start a relationship. Who would say
NO to a palamino mare? But on the
other hand it took some time for me to
become rider enough to ride Argo.

Our Passion is Horses at Sierra Ranch!
We have two passions. Trail riding and race horses. Sometimes we get to do both at
the same time. When that happens no one is safe on the trails. :) Course I am just
kidding. Come join us on the trail and enjoy the experience.
We moved to our place in April 2003 and soon after began collecting ex-race horses. Of
course they weren't ex's at the time we got them. :) They all had promising careers. But
as they evolved things would happen and we would follow through with our promise to
have a place for them to retire.

How we train at Sierra Ranch...
We are retraining the ex's to trail ride and horse camp. We don't do a lot of finish training
until we find the perfect match and then we train horse and rider together. We also have
several fine trail horses for sale or trade. Most of the ex's are for lease and not sale
unless we find THE perfect match. Why actually buy when you can lease for the same
price as boarding? The Horse page has a listing of the horses available to lease and
more information.
We have started a newsletter to let folks know what is going on at Sierra Ranch. New
horses for sale or lease, upcoming trail rides as well as tips on riding and camping.

Trail Rider Mag. Not bad. :) But we also had some trying times. Someday ask me to
show you the 20 some odd stitches I have thanks to her. ;)
Argo found her perfect horse match in a friend of ours, Amanda. You can read more
about the two of them on Argo's page. And I have my perfect horse match that just so
happens to be also know as the Robot Horse (Maverick).
