Henry the Fish is a 2001 dark bay TB gelding. He is about 16 hands and about 1100
pounds. Henry is a four time winner and has nice breeding. Below are his catalog page
and racing record.
Henry began his retraining in winter 2007. Henry had several more months of just
lounging in the pasture before we begin to teach him pleasure riding. He had some race
injuries that needed to heal and he just needed some time to take it easy. He is very
willing to learn a new job. He is a very well mannered horse and knows several voice
commands already. I feel he will be easy to retrain.
Henry has a very unique look about him. That's why we included so many pictures.
Notice his ears. They curve inward more than other TB's. I was told by the trainer that he
was a bit inquisitive at the track. He could get out of his stall and would go wondering.
He has not done such at the ranch, but then we have not given him the chance to be silly.
Henry does all the standard horse things: Load, stands for the shoer, takes baths, is
easy to catch. He is current on his shots and worming. Henry will be a great all round
horse for low levels activities. He may not be suited for jumping or eventing due to past
injuries.
Henry has been riding novice riders on trails and doing a great job. Henry spent part of
the summer of 2009 learning to hunt. Henry is available for lessons, trail riding, and
lease. Please contact us if you would like to lease Henry.
